Every business, no matter what Industry you are in, is looking to expand your reach online. Whether it is through advertising to displaying your products on a website, you are looking to get your name and goods out there. Social Media Marketing is one way of doing it, but it must be done in a social manner, all except on one social network… Pinterest.
It is always difficult when we have something that can be used for both personal and professional gain. Since many of us began using social media to connect with friends, family and like-minded people, we forget that it is not the same application for business.
Understanding that there needs to be a difference is where your success can begin. Applying the same strategy you have for your personal social media accounts to your business social media accounts is a fail. Let’s talk about the difference.
If you have been paying attention to my Social Networks as of late I have been recently obsessed with the 1980’s hit TV Show, The Facts of Life.
There are television shows we remember fondly from our childhood, for me “Who’s the Boss”, “Growing Pains” and “The Facts of Life” are the few that come to my 80’s-born mind. When I heard that The Facts of Life had made its way onto Netflix Canada, I pulled it up on my TV and through my Nintendo Wii I became addicted to it all over again.
As social media demolished thoughts of being a fad and has established itself as an Industry that has not only transformed Internet Marketing as we knew it a few years ago, but is making its way into search. We have seen many dealers fight their presence of being online.
The meaning behind a “Social Recluse” as derived from the Urban Dictionary:
“A person who voluntarily removes themselves from social situations, or society altogether.”
May not be applicable to many others since the term can be from a compilation of things that have caused us to shy away from society and become a recluse without choosing too. Such things could include, shyness, a variety of anxiety disorders and one in which is a disorder that is for the social recluse, known as “Avoidant personality disorder”.
As Social Media has progressed in the past few years it is hard to keep up with what will turn the crank on gaining people who will be of value to you as you would hope to be to them. As a dealer trying to figure out the inner workings of the Internet may sound achievable until you try it and learn how much work is needed to put true effort into your social media sites.
It is almost guaranteed that any business module you are currently using to track your business efforts does not attain the tracking necessary for social media.
Everything created to help businesses remain informed as a unit from each department would not have thought to include a section that would properly track social media efforts as preferred since social media changes faster than algorithms within Google.
You may have noticed some articles stating that you may not notice changes to Pinterest, but any avid Pinterest user will certainly take notice to its platform changes since the two newest changes are in areas in which you scale your pinning actions.
As children we all aspire to do great things and often dream of becoming someone memorable. As we grow into adolescence and adulthood, the world goes from innocent to egocentric and then to realizing that the world is a lot bigger than us, much like someone peering down upon small ants of people. This is the stage in which we reflect on our childhood dreams, on the days in which freedom was not only of the spirit but of the mind and in a world so big we question, Am I Relevant?
If you wonder if kindness is still left within a world where we have consciously isolated ourselves at times through the advancement of technology that sometimes divide us from our offline worlds, while at the same time unite us online, the short answer is yes.
